There are 4 working links in the PDF version. They are the 2 E-mail addresses, my blog and a link to examples of my work. This currently links to the blog page concerning my exhibits in the Creative Show.
The CV was designed as A3 landscape but fits on the screen in Adobe Reader.
I looked at examples of infographics CVs and there did not seem to be one style or format so I did my own design. It is based on mathematical set theory. The colour scheme comes from a purple edged copper butterfly as seen below.
London Agent
This is the title sequence to an imaginary film. The credits for actress, music and director are real. The rest are fictitious. The film plays with the word agent. She may be a spy or she may be one of the other types of agent shown.
These are stills from the film which is not on Youtube due to music copyright.
A Level Art Show
This is a promotional film for the 2010 York College A Level Art Show. It features the official show poster and photographs supplied by the client. The soundtrack was created by me as an emotional response to these photographs.
It’s About Time
This is a black and white silent film demonstrating some concepts about time.
Trams
This is a Foley project. The video was taken from Youtube. The sounds were created by applying effects to recordings of an electric sewing machine. Jimi Hendrix was a big influence here.
Defence Cuts
This is a spoof news story concerning a £3billion cut to the defence budget. All the video clips came from Youtube. I have used soviet montage editing techniques. Each clip is shown for 3 seconds. There is a 3 syllable commentary (mine) for each clip.
A Goole Nightmare
This is a stop motion animation involving an artist’s wooden mannequin and 2 water towers in Goole docks. The mannequin’s movements were based on Emma Peel from The Avengers.
Pascal with Music
This is a video demonstrating how Pascal’s triangle is constructed with a self composed musical description.
The music is influenced by Miles Davis (On the Corner), Karl Heinz Stockhausen and Talking Heads.
I had to teach myself about scales and chords for this project. I have produced an accompanying poster which shows how major scales and chords are constructed. There is also a poster showing the structure of the piece of music.
The next 5 films were made for Castaway-Goole who are a music and theatre group for adults with physical and/ or learning disabilities.
Aladdin
Some residents of St David’s Court tell the story of their trip to the pantomime.
Goldcrest Leisure
Two residents of Goldcrest House talk about the newly opened leisure facilities. The photographs were supplied by Goldcrest House.
Castaway New Projects
This uses photographs supplied by Castaway and includes a good example of motion blur.
Sing For Your Life
The leader talks about what the group do. The photographs were supplied by Castaway.
Magic Show
A theatre review constructed from audio and a photograph taken on a mobile phone.
Posters

CV
Here is my CV. The font is Helvetica-condensed.
We were asked to design a poster for the Final Show. I submitted three. They are the same design but the colour schemes are different. The colours were taken from the Dulux paint chart. I have previously used this in my moving image project. The colours used here were:

My daughter Emma Louise is a Castaway member. We were asked to produce an article for the newsletter about a magic show she attended at Junction Goole. She had this photo taken on her phone after the show:
The quality is not very good but it’s all there is! I designed a page in Scribus to include the photo and a label. We recorded an audio interview which I edited with Audacity. The results were combined using Microsoft Photostory 3. It was approved for inclusion in the newsletter. Emma Louise was delighted with the finished article.
St Davids Court is a sheltered housing complex in Goole where some of the Castaway members live. They had a day out in Hull which included a visit to the New Theatre to see Aladdin. I was asked to produce an article about this using video interview. This was to be done immediately using whoever was available.
Anna, Karen, Shaun and Carl were available. We decided which topics would be covered before we started filming. I filmed them as a group then individually using a Kodak Flip camera.
I edited the resulting 5 files using Windows Movie Maker. There is a lot of jump cutting. This is normally done to break up the flow but the reverse is true in this case. I have removed excessive pauses, prompting, stutering, etc. This gives a much better flow. Everyone was happy with the finished film.
Goldcrest House is a residential care home in Goole where some of the Castaway members live. Some new leisure facilities have recently been opened there. I was asked to do a feature for the newsletter about them.
I was supplied with ten photos. Two residents (Mark C and Mark G) were available for interview. We decided the topiics to be covered before doing the interview. I edited the interview using Audacity to remove excessive pauses, etc. My voice is not in the finished version.
I made a photo story using Microsoft Photostory 3. The order and duration for each photo was determined by the commentary – hence the variable lengths. There were a few photos that were similar (Mark C using the punch bag). I used them in quick succession when Mark said he used the punch bag often. I was also able to use bits of photos (eg the head shots when they introduce themselves). This makes it look like there are more than ten photos.
I made a title page in the same format as the others. Everyone was pleased with the final result although Mark G queried why Mark C was listed above him in the title (alphabetic order).
