Filming Your Interactive Adventure

Posted in Uncategorized on 20/10/2010 by Tim Bradley

I played the part of one of the three kidnappers/muggers/thugs. I wore a long sleeved black tshirt, black gloves and scuffed steel toecap shoes. Some people thought I looked rather too convincing!

The first location was the garage at Dan’s house. This was where the kidnappers kept their victims. One scene began with Christian shouting for help. The kidnapper’s response was a baseball bat. I suggested giving the camera a sharp jolt to give the impression that “Dave” had been hit by the baseball bat and knocked unconscious. Dan was the kidnapper with the baseball bat. Chloe was filming. The plan was for me to pull Chloe sideways sharply as Dan walked past and hold her steady to film the rest of the scene from an angle. We achieved the required result.

The kidnapping scene was filmed on the cycle track near college. This is the only scene where I am seen in the film. Three dodgy looking characters are seen approaching Christian and “Dave”. Christian is overpowered and the camera (Chloe) shaken about.

The final scene filmed that day was finding a bag of money in the undergrowth. This was filmed in the same location.

Advertising Campaign

Posted in Uncategorized on 10/05/2010 by Tim Bradley

I have chosen the “Put a tiger in your tank” campaign by Esso. I have chosen it because I saw it mentioned in the 1965 film Pierrot le fou . (It is at the end of this 7minute clip).
The campaign was introduced in 1959 by Exxon (created by Chicago copywriter Emery Smith).
A loveable cartoon tiger was introduced in 1964 resulting in a big increase in sales. The campaign soon spread to Europe, Australia and the Far East.
Here is an example of a poster.
A live tiger was later used. The campaign was certainly long running. Here is a British advert from the late 70′s- early 80′s.
